Team Driver Report

I received a call and email yesterday reporting on Tanner Hagler and thought I would pass it along to everyone.

Tanner went in last week for a hip replacement. This is a copy and paste from his Dad. I would post the pics but they are very small and don't show much.

"The surgery lasted over 8 hours and he was in the hospital for 5days. He is finally at home and getting some rest.

They had to cut his pelvis and reshape the hip socket, cut the femur and turn it around, you can see the plate and screws holding every thing together. They also had to lengthen some of the muscles in different locations. It will be a long recovery and hopefully he will be able to stand without pain in the long run. He has to go without putting weight on his leg for 6 weeks, and then it will be a lot of physical therapy,not sure how long he will be out but Tanner is a fighter and is determined to walk as soon as possible."

Team Report

The last 2 weeks have been busy!
2 weeks ago was Mountain Division round 2 where Hunter Kinsey qualified 2nd in Pro Arena Truck and finished 6th due to a broken servo. In Pro Buggy Hunter was TQ and once again suffered breakage and fell out early taking 9th.
Team driver Gary Haggard qualified 7th and fell out with a bad servo to take 10th.

Last weekend was Midsouth Round 2 and Hunter made the trip to Flowood Mississippi. He TQed and won the Pro Buggy class but chose not to run the Pro Arena Truck this time.

Northeast Rd 1 - CRC Raceway

RC Pro Products Team Driver

Team Driver Gunnar Reik takes TQ and the win in both Open Buggy & Open Arena Truck at round 1 of the RC Pro Series Northeast at CRC Raceway in Rome NY. Gunnar has made multiple podiums at a myriad of events this year using his Alpha Plus engines! It was a long weekend with multiple rain delays but the Alpha Plus engines performed flawlessly.

Gunnar was using the F850 in buggy & S852 in arena truck.

Texas State series Round 2 - RCHQ San Antonio

It was another wet weekend in San Antonio Texas for the 2nd round of the RC Pro State Series but the RCHQ crew pulled it out and after late showers on Friday and much sawdust on Saturday morning completed 2 of the scheduled 3 rounds of qualifying after a late start. Since this was a once day event the mains were finally finished about 2am due to the weather delays and Alpha Plus driver Jason Branham took the TQ and Win in both Expert Buggy & Truggy. Jason used the F850 in his Xray buggy and S852 in his Xray truggy.
Alpha Plus Team Driver Eliott Martinez finished 4th in Expert buggy using the S852 in his Losi.

Futaba/OS Nitro Challenege

Ryan Lutz takes TQ and win in Pro Buggy & Truggy at the Futaba/OS Nitro Challenge this past weekend.

Ryan was using the Z852 with the Alpha Plus 2081 pipe in his buggy & the S852 with the A Plus 0801 pipe in his truggy.

Texas State Series Round 1

This past weekend was the 1st Texas State Series event for 2010 and it kicked off with 247 entries.

Team driver Jason Branham took the TQ in Buggy and Arena Truck plus followed it up with the win in both.

Team Driver Tanner Hagler qualified 2nd in either buggy or arena truck but memory fails as to which one it was at this point. He did come home with a 2nd in Arena Truck and was up to 4th or 5th in Buggy when he suffered a clutch bell bearing failure and finished 10th.

Team Driver Carlos Franklin Jr finished out with a 23rd place finish for his 1st big race with the Alpha Plus power.

Due to the late finish of this event actual awards pics weren't taken so these are stock shots of our guys.

Silver State

This past weekend was the Silver State event and Alpha Plus scored big!

In the 40+ Buggy and Truggy classes Jimmy Wright brought home the wins. Congrats Jimmy your king OLD GUY! LOL

In Pro Buggy Ryan Lutz qualified 4th for the A but suffered from a failed servo in the main.

In Open Buggy Team Pres Ilog took the win from his 5th qualifying spot and in Open Truggy he qualified 2nd and finished 2nd.

Sorry for the lack of pictures but no one has sent any in as of this writing.

New Team Driver

We would like to welcome Jason Branham to the Alpha Plus Team. Jason will be using the Alpha Plus Engines in his Xray buggies and truggies for 2010.
This past weekend was Jason's test run with the alpha's and it garnered him the TQ and win in both Buggy and Arena Truck at the Texas State Series round 1 event.

2010 Icebreaker

The Icebreaker is held at the Indy RC World facility in Garland Texas each February. This year RC Pro Products/Alpha Plus Team Drivers were in force.
Team drivers Ryan Lutz, Gary Haggard, Frank Sell, Ron Fleck Jr. and Tanner Hagler made the trip along with privateers Jason Howell and Jason McAllister.
I was there to help as needed and managed to stay busy most of the time.

Qualifying went well for our team guys with Lutz taking TQ in both Expert classes. Making the arena Truck A from the RCPP team was Gary Haggard, Ron Fleck Jr and Frank Sell.
at the start of the A main Ryan lost an axle drive pin and once repairs were made he was about 8 laps down from the leaders. So he played catchup but was only able to get back to 7th spot by the end. Ryan did put on a show for everyone track side trying to make up time and literally drove the tires off his truck coming in from the 45 minute main on bald tires. Frank Sell also developed a problem with his truck and dropped out after only 10 minutes and had to settle for 10th. Ron stayed steady and brought his Mugen home in 5th at the end of the 45 minute main. Our top finisher was Gary Haggard with the 3rd spot in his Losi.

In the Expert Buggy Tanner had handling problems during qualifying and had to settle for the C main but was leading it by 1/2 a lap when mysterious problems came up and he had to retire.
Having much the same qualifying woes Frank Sell had to bump into the A main by winning the B with Ron just one spot from a bump spot at the end of the B main.
In the A on the start Ryan flamed and as we later found out he had lowered his idle during warmup. Once the idle was raised he went on the hunt for the lead pair and tried to make up his 2 laps deficit. Frank once again had as he said maintenance issues with buggy breakage which relegated him to 10th again. Gary Haggard had worked his way into 4th and was looking fast until he took one turn too wide to setup for the upcoming chicane and found the only open pvc pipe end on the track which dissected the front end on his Losi and ended his main in 8th. Jason Howell running the F850 hung in and took home 5th. Now while all this is going on Ryan is tearing through traffic and gaining spots but only managed to get the 3rd spot by the end of the 45 minute main. He ran near the top 2 buggies the whole race but was only able to get back about 1/2 a lap on the 1st and 2nd place cars at the end.

Jason McAllister running his Alpha Plus F850 qualified 2nd for the Sportsman A main and brought home a podium finish with a 3rd. This was Jason's 1st big race and he did very well for only having a month or two running a nitro.

Congratulations to all the Team drivers as well as the privateers running the Alpha Plus engines.

Psycho Nitro Blast 2010

Sunday March, 7th.

Wow what a crazy, psycho, long, sad, happy, tired, all over theplace week. That is what the Psycho Nitro blast turned out to be in2010!

To start off with my 801X buggy and 801Xt truggy came to playthis weekend! On a track that I have always shown well but neverfinished well it was my time to try to shine.

Qualifying went decent for the first two rounds. I was able toput top 3 runs in both vehicles whilst setting the fastest lap times.In my round 3's at 3am my luck wasn't there and I bowed out of both.Overall I qualified 3rd in both classes. A good starting position forthe Hour long A-mains.

Truggy main was up first and after warmups I decided to do a tirechange. My choice to run AKA S Gridirons paid off and on the first lapI powered my way past Truhe and Drake to take the lead and never lookback! My 801Xt was dialed and just floating over all the bumps! My801Xt consistently laid down the fastest lap times and I ended uptaking the win by about 30 seconds over the Drake.

Buggy main was up last and by this time everyone was whooped. Ihad a good start and moved up to battle with Drake for the first 8minutes. I took the lead before my first pitstop but Drake was on alonger pit strategy. It ended up working out for him as he extended abit of a lead. I would stay right with him for the first 30 minutes orso but eventually with a few mistakes he pulled away a bit and withless pitstops I just couldn't catch up to him. My 801X laid down thefastest laptimes but it was only good enough for 2nd. Overall thoughafter my last 2 weekends it felt good to get some decent finishes andhave my Tamiya Vehicles working good!

After a crazy 60 minute A Final where almost everyone flamed out at one time or another Meen Vejrak took the win with his Alpha Plus powered Mugen. Alpha Plus also finished 4th with local racer Champ Khunthin.

The Worlds Warmup Race is in progress in Pattaya Thailand. After qualifying Alpha Plus sponsored drivers Dani Choi and Meen Vejrak are qualified 5th & 7th respectively.
Mains can be seen on Live RC later tonight.

RC Pro Products Team Drivers - February Events

The end of February will be busy for most of the RC Pro Products Team.

Coming up the weekend of the 20th will be 2 large races - Nitro Challenge in Arizona and Motorama in Pennsylvania.
Lutz, Flores and Pres along with Jimmy Wright and the Track Star crew will be in attendance for the Nitro Challenge to see how the Alpha Plus engines stack up against everyone else.
Lindemann and Rieck along with the Ready Roller crew will be at the Motorama show debuting their new Alpha Plus engines.

February 27th weekend many of the RC Pro Products drivers will be attending the Ice Breaker at Indy RC World in Garland Texas. Currently scheduled to attend are Ryan Lutz, Frank Sell, Tanner Hagler, Ron Fleck Jr and Gary Haggard. Spencer Wall is a strong possibility for this event also. RC Pro President Carlton Eppes will be on hand to help the team drivers as well as provide comedy relief while attempting to drive his new Castle Creations powered E Buggy for the 1st time.

March sneak peek - Ryan Lutz will be at the Psycho Nitro Bash, along with racing he will be attempting to go for a world record jump with his Tamiya powered by an Alpha Plus Z852.

Race Report 1/25/10 Enid Oklahoma

New Team Member Frank Sell and his racing buddy Jason Howell headed to the Enid RC indoor facility for some saturday racing and a chance to try out the new Alpha Plus engines and A plus pipes.
Jason took TQ in Buggy followed by Frank. In the A main Jason took off and left Frank to deal with the pack running over him on the start. Frank managed to work his way through the pack and catch Jason but time ran out before he could find a way around. That means Alpha Plus and A plus with the TQ, wind and 2nd.
